The Austin Area Firewise Alliance is an independent volunteer organization. It is not the City of Austin, the Austin Fire Department, Hays, Travis, or Williamson County, or any Emergency Services District, and nothing here is an official notice from them. Emergency instructions always come from those agencies.

Guidance on this site follows Firewise USA® and NFPA practice. It is general preparedness information, not a substitute for a site assessment of your own property. Firewise USA® is a registered program of the National Fire Protection Association.
